A Call to Prayer and a Call To Action

A call to prayer from Bishop Gibbs:

Let us pray for all victims of tragedy whether by natural disaster or by violent acts perpetrated by fellow human beings, let us be mindful and prayerful, remembering that God is with us all and in God is our hope.

“Eternal God, in whose perfect kingdom no sword is drawn
but the sword of righteousness, no strength known but the
strength of love: So mightily spread abroad your Spirit, that
all peoples may be gathered under the banner of the Prince of
Peace, as children of one Father; to whom be dominion and
glory, now and for ever. Amen.” BCP, p815

For those who are inspired to action, donating blood is a concrete and selfless way to help. Blood is often in short supply, particularly during large emergencies, so please do not wait until the unthinkable happens to donate. Even though we in Michigan are not able to donate blood directly to the survivors of the recent tragedies, you can help save many lives each year by helping our hospitals remain ready and able to save lives.
