Camp Compassion July 15-22, 2012
"Changing the World One Week at a Time"
Camp Compassion is the Annual Diocesan Youth and Young Adult Mission Trip. It is open to Youth and Young Adults starting with incoming High School Freshmen. During this week long mission, partcipants get to experience being the hands and feet of Jesus in the world.
Past expereinces included Post Hurricane Katrina Relief work in Mississippi, Community work in Chicago, a return to Bay St. Louis, MS for more Katrina relief, various sites in Pontiac (a community garden, a food bank, a retirement center, fixing and cleaning up the church and a neighborhood carnival), and home restoration in the Appalachin Mountains of Virgina. In 2012 we will be staying at the Emrich Retreat Center and doing work around Livingston county.In 2013, the plan is to go to the Dominican Republic and help build a church.
