New Director of Communications Anna Schroen brings energy, passion and experience to EDOMI
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
I am so pleased to announce that Anna Schroen, a Michigan native and experienced communications professional has been hired as the new Director of Communications of the Episcopal Diocese of Michigan.
After finishing her dual degree in Comparative Cultures & Politics and Japanese Language at Michigan State University’s James Madison College of Public Policy in East Lansing, Anna’s career has taken her many places from National Public Radio’s flagship show All Things Considered in Washington DC to Public Sector Consultants in Lansing, to The Detroit Lions community relations department in Detroit and then finally to the Eight Mile Boulevard Association. Her work has been dedicated to uplifting communities and has informed the world about health challenges facing Metro Detroit, brought United Way’s Meet Up & Eat Up program to hundreds of low-income children and brought collaboration among Metro Detroit’s leadership.
“I’ve worn a lot of hats in my career,” Says Anna, “And that’s given me quite broad experience in many types of organizations and communities. I’m very excited to help tell EDOMI’s story and to spread the word of the incredible things going on in our congregations.” Anna recognizes the importance of listening before speaking and notes, “I can’t wait to meet the people who make this diocese so dynamic and special and hear their stories!”
Anna grew up in Chelsea, Michigan and spent many happy years as a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Belleville. In her spare time, she loves to cook, hike, learn German and listen to NPR.
Anna’s first day in the diocesan office will be Monday, April 3, 2017. Please join me and the rest of my staff as we welcome her!
The Rt. Rev. Wendell N. Gibbs, Jr.
