ALL AGES, ALWAYS LEARNING!

Lifelong Learning recognizes that people are continually growing intellectually, emotionally and spiritually, and then calls Christian to be intentional about their ministry and faith life.

That we each are ‘ministers’ is an embedded in the theology of the 1979 Book of Common Prayer. Our ‘first ordination’ is our baptism. To live into our call we must develop our skills and knowledge as well as deliberately seek to know and be transformed by the love of God.

We use the words ’Christian Education’ (learning processes and information) and ‘Christian Formation’ (the experiential act of shaping, fabricating or establishing our faith) to describe lifelong learning.

The Office of Lifelong Learning seeks to support educational programs in the congregation through teacher training, consultations with parish education leaders, promotion of networking between congregation, assistance in planning workshops and sharing resources.

With this in mind, the Diocese of Michigan offers education and formation experiences in a number of areas.
