Founded in 1951 as a newspaper for the person in the pew, The Record strives to present an accurate and comprehensive picture of the life of the church of Jesus Christ in the Diocese of Michigan, while challenging the minds and moving the hearts of Episcopalians. Started as a subscription-based publication, The Record began to circulate with Episcopal Life to every household in the diocese in 1995. Find a history of the newspaper HERE.
During 2009 and 2010, The Record is shifting its news, announcements, and feature-story coverage to an online e-mail publication called The Record Weekly complemented by The Record Web site. The Web site contains a rich set of archives of every print issue of the newspaper since 2004 and other news archives.
The Record Weekly is published every Monday and circulated by e-mail. In 2010, The Record will begin publication of The Record magazine, a quarterly publication that will augment the weekly news broadcasts through The Record Weekly. See the preview sample of The Record magazine HERE.
