Baptized for Life

Baptized For Life

The Diocese of Michigan has been invited by Virginia Theological Seminary (VTS), through a Lily Foundation grant award, to a 5-year exploration of discipleship in local congregations. Using the catechumenate and the Baptismal Covenant as guides, each faith community will discern a ministry project to equip people to claim their vocations as Christian disciples in the world. Participants will explore a variety of spiritual practices and models of ministry to grow in their own faith and engage God’s mission in the world. In our diocese, Trinity Episcopal (Belleville), Christ Episcopal Church (Dearborn), and St. Barnabas Church (Chelsea) have engaged the program for specific ministries they are initiating. This exciting project connects work in the community with formation of disciples.
