Sensible Gun Culture: Ways You Can Help

Bishop Perry Invites Your Participation in Creating a Sensible Gun Culture

Gun violence has been a daily tragedy in so many Michigan communities for far too long. The recent school shooting in Oxford highlights the urgency of this issue. More than 1000 Michiganders are killed every year by firearms and firearms are the number 1 cause of death of children in our state. African-American Michiganders are 21 times more likely to be killed by a gun than their white neighbors.

It’s time to take action to create a culture in which we feel safe in our neighborhoods and confident when we send our children to school that they too are safe.

Please join an exploratory call to discuss the idea of a gun safety ballot initiative, January 14th, at 12:00 PM.
