The Diocese of Michigan is planning another pilgrimage to the Holy Land. We will stay at St. George’s Anglican College in Jerusalem and visit many of the most significant places in Jesus’ life and ministry including Bethlehem, the Jordan River, Capernaum, the Church of the Holy Selpulchre, and many more.

The cost of the trip, excluding airfare, is $2,500 and includes accommodations, three meals a day, a tour bus and driver, all entrance fees and  our wonderful tour guide. It also includes trip insurance and a chartered bus to and from the  airport in Toronto. There is a $540 additional fee if  you want a single room. All other rooms are doubles with two twin beds. You are responsible for buying your own souvenirs. It is too early to tell what airfare will cost. In 2016 we saved quite a bit by traveling from Toronto. If we were traveling this November, the cost of round-trip airfare would be about $1100.

is it safe?

Yes! Our guide, Iyad, has led over a hundred groups of Episcopalians over the years and  has never had a problem. He is a native of the area and knows how to avoid any potential trouble spots. Our group in 2016 felt totally safe at every moment.

How large will the group be?

The size of the goup is limited to 20 – 35 people.

How strenuous is it?

We do a lot of walking, sometimes up hills and over uneven ground. It is important to  be in reasonably good shape, able to walk a couple of miles. In our last group we had several pilgrims with significant mobility issues and they were able to participate in  most of our activities, though once or twice  they stayed on the bus and met us after a walk.

Is there Hummus?

Oh yes. Hummus is served with every meal!
